Ray Isles. Please read and consider.

I love it! But I wish the dual alternators were standard. Maybe in the following years Ford can start offering solar on the roof, a 4 season insulation package, bug screens for the side and rear doors, and interior anchor points, so if someone just wanted to throw their camping gear in there... like a cot/mattress, a sleeping bag, a chest style refrigerator/freezer, a camping stove, a portable heater, a portable power station with more power/capability, and a lugaloo portable toilet, then they'd be all set to go.
I would also like to see an option for a liftgate/tailgate combo in addition to the barn doors in the rear. Nothing feels better than sitting on a tailgate with a beer enjoying a beautiful view! MAKE IT HAPPEN FORD!!!

The Transit Trail looks much better too! It finally looks sexy, but Ford needs to offer it in more colors, like "Desert Sand" for example! And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the newer Transits finally got the GEN 2 Ecoboost engine that has both direct and indirect injection, which greatly reduces a lot of the carbon buildup problems the GEN 1 Ecoboost had.

And finally, Ford just bitch-slapped GM/Chevy & Ram with their van of pure AWD awesomeness! Well done Ford! Now... if they just implemented my suggestions, Ford would then drive the stake right though the heart of their competition, including Mercedes!
MAKE IT HAPPEN FORD!!!

My take, fellow upfitters, the TRAIL is not a Sprinter killer or promaster KILLER, Not yet :
1-Not redesign involved
2-Marketing cosmetic red lipstick...still a cargo van
We need a true redesign oem camper van ready for upfitters:
1-better suspension oem, like liquid springs in the back for many needs and desires such as, better departur angle when needed on the spot etc.
2-AC ducted to the back running from the engine(not a one ton mini split), same with floor heating system, get the most of that powerfull engine. Or a total redesign of HVAC system optimized for upfitterd of class B+.
2-side flares fittings ready to install after market flares.
3-the current interior structure is optimized for cargo missions. Hence, redesign interior structure (at least 10 different types and options for upfitters) to optimize installation ...total redesign of interior cealing structure for drop down accesories such as Showers, drapes, kitchens, tables, storage, beds etc. Redesign the floor interior and exterior for things like, oem shower trays, water tanks(plural) that could fit in every unusable hidden space.
4-computer module hacking access to make the AWD more off-road capable such as sustainable silp diff. etc
5-detachable or option not to order the obsolete, 2000 year old design, backdoors (cargo doors not design for upfitters) to install our own back design set up, just imagine....Jesus, ala MadMax style designs back there.
5-detachable access pannels on the side for access to all, all utilities(a must have for upfitters). The engine has an access panel, i think.
6-Option of hybrid pronto, did i say hybrid...we jave been 120 years with the same engine....
7-make the Transit trail lighter by 750 kilos.
8- 100 different options

-Ford, if i may suggest, make a van design for upfitters...to have a true canvas to work on.
All these for a price of 45k msrp, then u will have a true Sprinter and Promaster Killer.

I like the fact that it comes with some of the modification I would have to do anyways but would definitively have to do a lot more mods to make it work if full-time, off-grid living. It is a good start!

Ford, where is the 4WD with a low range transfer case and a locking rear diff? Why do we have to go to Quigley to get a truly off road capable version of your van?

That is a nice-looking vehicle with all of the normal upgrades already added. Beautiful!

Love this. Can’t wait to see what RV manufacturers do with it.

Where can you see one and how do you purchase one. The Ford dealers I spoke to have no idea what a trail is

Looks like a perfect chassis for additional mods (Roof rack, power system, storage) and I would bet this update makes STO's life even easier to add their overlays!

We have a Vandoit we just purchased in September and its very cool. Too bad this chassis wasn't an option for us when we purchased. Their stuff kicks butt and is really awesome.

Wow this is great and I love the overview coming from one of the designers as he explains a lot more than a salesperson.

Hey friends! Thanks so much for reviewing this van! I have so been wanting to see it and learn more about it. (Jane in SC)❤🙏

Nice to see a lot of desirable features already on the vehicle, both from a factory warranty standpoint as well as saving labor and parts to outfit a standard vehicle to that level. Having it engineered to these specs is also a big plus. That spare tire must be like going to the bakery and getting the biggest donut in the shop.

My biggest complaint isnt the van itself it is dealer greed. A Transit currently via most dealers will see a markup. Loaded, not $60k but $70k.
A GLUT is coming so for those that can wait a few months these will be at MSRP or below by year's end. Can't wait to see what greedy dealers want for the Transit Trail - haha - $20k OVER????

Hi Russo’s! Happy Holidays! Dang that’s good looking ( the van Joe, not that you aren’t too 😉 ) and addresses the issue of clearance for a better off road experience. Given today’s climate AC is a necessary for me so power is still an issue.

Ford did A phenomenal job putting this Ford van in production. My only worry is how dependable is that engine and transmission Ford does not have a stellar reputation in that department unfortunately
