Those blocks look very much like kites. You could vary the height of several of them and add rickrack or ribbon tails on them an even make some a bit wonky. Quilting is so fun! Have sew great day!

Deb Tucker's split rectangle tool is an essential tool for these blocks. They are what I call deceptively easy but devilishly difficult, but only because standard rulers have no good reference lines due to the angle. It slightly oversizes and offers trim down seam line at the perfect angle. These split rectangles are the flanking triangles on triangle in square or Peaky + Spike. It will work for sizes to 8" finished.

A slightly challenging block - I hate losing my points!! - but I love a challenge! I would have to use Mary Ellen's Best Press when pressing the seams in the beginning.  And it would make a cool border treatment! Thanks!

I think your Bernita needs to be oiled and cleaned. Mine was noisy like your then it quieted down after I cleaned it. I have enjoyed all of your tutorials especially the ones you filmed on the long boat !
