It is miles better if you can have the self control to not have the chest touch the floor but get extremely close, then slowly raise back up. "Controlled negatives" in pushups are important because it's most of the exercise in my experience, so you shouldn't be slamming your chest back into the ground.

This man speaks facts bro I've been squeezing in pushups when it's dead at my job for the last four months and it is making a difference. I moved my 75in TV on my own when I rearranged my office space when it took me and a friend to move it when I first got it.

I just went down from 19 pushups to 5 pushups for the new form. It is demotivating at first when you see that you go down in reps but if you fix your form and do it properly, you will gain alot more muscle and you will get back there with consistency. Thank you for making this video, I thought i was doing pushups properly all this time. I did go all the way down but my forearms were moving, and the shoulders weren't tucked in properly.

A very useful and informative guide. One trick I like to do when reaching the point of failure at regular push-ups is to drop to the knees and crank out a few extra reps to go beyond failure.
