If I Was Starting at 30% Body Fat, This Is What I Would Do (5 Steps)

How Long To Get From 25% to 15% Body Fat? (Reality Check)

Coaching:

About the video:
If you've decided to get lean by cleaning up your diet, getting to the gym consistently, and finally getting serious about your fitness, you're not alone. Most people set ambitious fat loss and muscle building goals at the beginning of the year just to end up falling off track within a few weeks or months. The real question is how to be among that small percentage of those who successfully lose body fat and permanently change their lifestyle. What do those do differently with their diet, training, and overall routine that sets them apart? That's what I want to share with you in this video.

In this video I share 3 things I would do differently compared to most people if I was starting my fitness journey at 25% body fat or 35% body fat. And if you're in that situation, these 3 strategies will make sure that the effort you put into your diet to lose weight or your training to build muscle goes in the right direction. This is the content I wish I had when I first started my first journey, as it would have made a big difference.

Thanks to your videos i went from 27% body to about 17% and still going, super proud of myself and thankful to you for giving me a realistic timeline, telling me that weight doesn't drop linearly more line a zig zag with a trend and to go for a sustainable long term diet. <3 <3

I remember falling into that bad mindset.
"oh I've messed up going over my calories, might as well eat the rest of these chocolates"
not realizing there is always a tomorrow to make any necessary corrections, it's a silly thought process but so easy to think that way.

A small calorie deficit and moderate exercise, consistently over a year then you’ll have a lean body. Don’t overthink it. Don’t overdue it. Slow and steady.

I had to be okay with the 4 or 5 pounds I gained back over Christmas because it's not like I didn't make a new healthy habit over a matter of 2 months. That's a massive key. Make new healthy habits.

You are definitely one of if not the best delivering this type of content. Always encouraged but with spot on advice and relevant tips....not just ‘feel good’. Cheers Mario

I hit 250lbs by the end of 2020 during lockdown. In 2021, I committed to cooking every meal and walking my dog for an hour every day, and bought a rowing machine that I used like 2-3 times a week. I limited my drinking to only once a week and no more than 3 drinks. Ended the year at 230lb. Last year I got down to 210 through 7 months of calorie tracking and daily cardio, and full body weight training days 4 days a week. Stopped counting the calories and doing the cardio, thinking that I could maintain 210 for the rest of the year just doing the lifting and walking my dog. Yeah, from July till now, I gained 15lbs. So back to calorie counting and cardio. This year I’m shooting for 200lbs(which should be about 15%bf for me), and staying there for good! Wish me luck.

I've dropped over 40 pounds since Sept 2021. Started at 185 and weighed in this morning at 141.5. I'm a 72 year old male, 69" tall. My goal is 135 as I'm also a cyclist, and want to get a bit more aero. I also ride (indoors) six days a week in the mornings. Right now I'm doing 30-45 minute sessions in Zone 2-3.

For me consistency is everything! At the begining you need willpower to change your habits, but then its all about consistency and if you stick to your plan you will get where you wanna be.

I started getting serious about fitness again about 4 months ago. I have gained a ton of muscle but have not lost much fat at all. I have a hard time with the calorie deficit part! Eating less food leaves me feeling tired and irritable and unable to focus toward the end of the day.

"consistently good beats occasionally perfect." we've all heard something like that before but damn, that might be the best, clearest way it's ever been said. thank you for that. (and for everything else!)
