Did u get the pre amp also? How can I configure the latency to headphone while I record with the pre amp to the Apollo to the mic?

I just bought the VMS mic and I need to know where you insert Melodyne when using the VSM software. VSM goes on top of the vocal track, so does Melodyne go above it or below it?

I just put my slate up for sale. I can hear the harshness of the slate mic and I could never eq my way out of it. I have to spend so much time trying to mold the vocal to an acceptable tone and it still never sits in the mix the way I want it. I have had rappers and singers pick between a TLM 102 and the slate, since they are similarly priced, and no one has ever picked the slate no matter what models I picked. It’s been sitting 98% of the 2 and a half years I’ve had it. I even had the slate preamp going directly into a quality converter and really didn’t improve anything.

Could you record directly into a track instead of going the aux way?

I'm impressed with the concept, but does anyone else besides me feel like there is some breakup, or mild distortion on the base track? It's very mild, but I believe I hear it. for what it's worth I'm listening to it with very expensive in-ear monitors.

Let me make sure I'm getting this right... $800 for the mic, $400 for the pre, and then you still have to pay hundreds of dollars to unlock more than the 3 models it comes with?
