So I just came upon a great idea for guitar. Create impulses using the ML2 and then add the mics in post as you wish. It means you don't have to create impulses for every mic. Just get 5 or 6 impulses in different positions for the given cabinet with the ML2 and then add the mic models later. Works a treat. This mic just keeps getting better.

Since so many are asking. This does not REQUIRE a specific preamp/interface but performance is optimised for the Slate VMS. A good clean preamp will do an admirable job no doubt.

Looks like no one has any of these mic yet, or the first batch of them went really quick. All the dealers I've checked with won't have any more in stock until sometime in September. Looking forward to getting my hands on one when they're available.

I’ve only listened to online (YouTube, etc) that Slate did, and several of the comparisons, so I don’t know if it is partially MP3 compression related; however, I hear a lot of upper-midrange grit, distortion and dynamic range compression on all of the videos I have watched, when compared to the UAD ones. I also notice a difference on the high frequencies in terms of spacial imaging sounding somewhat narrowed and constrained compared to UAD videos/comparisons. I am interested in making a purchase decision for a high profile recording studio, and I have 2 questions: (1) has anyone heard about Slate fixes or work-arounds for this? Second question: are there some available downloadable apples-to-apples comparison available, from which to make a better comparison (ideally one that shows more/complete parity with the modeled sources or the UAD, and notes how to make that happen with the Slate virtual recording studio tech)?

Question. If we're using a stereo pair, can we group them into one track to have one VMR plugin on or do we have to have two separate plugins on?

i bought the vmr but the vocal de-esser, reverb, and delay arent showing up in the vmr at all. help:(
