Can someone please give me the definition of “woke”? I’m a boomer, an Independent, socially liberal as in I believe live and let live, as long as you aren’t hurting anyone else or taking away another’s freedom. Economically, I’ve been TRYING to warn folks for years about how we have screwed up capitalism…whether it’s our bought and owned congress critters; crony capitalism, destruction of so many regulations and oversight-especially as to our military industrial complex ($32 Trillion missing over 20yrs plus 8 failed audits…yet, they all complain about spending, debt and never have the money to help out low-middle income Americans…crisis or shock capitalism…ie: the price gouging that started in 2020 and continues….and more, resulting in the largest redistribution of wealth to the top 1% in human history…the rich are getting richer, the poor poorer…and the apathy is shocking. Then again, our media and politicians do everything they can to destruct, deflect and deny, so 🤷🏼‍♀️. I never would have thought they could manufacture so much outrage…and spend all their time investigating “the others”, whilst fueling as much fake fear as they can. The unholy merger of religion in our Govt..I would NEVER have guessed it could get this bad…but hey, devout religious people and people getting bombarded with all this fear-makes us so much easier to control, divide and conquer.
Yet…my 22yr old nephew, a conservative..is calling me “a woke Marxist”…knowing what Marxism is, while he defined it as “being woke and demanding the seizure of everyone’s guns!”
Yea..no, that’s not Marxism nor do I know ANYONE proposing to take my guns away…nevermind “demanding” it. I’m just very confused about this word, every time someone in the media asks the definition; they get attacked with ad hominem 🤷🏼‍♀️
