45 MONSTERA SPECIES (UPDATED VERSION 2021) | HERB STORIES

Monstera presents a wide spectrum of what’s called “fenestration” depending on the species. This is referring to the kind of holes/splits that the leaves show.
A lot of these plants have some serious transformations as they mature. It’s not uncommon for small vines to turn into full foliage monsters!

Some are commonly available, while others are extremely rare, which makes it all the more interesting!

** For plant misidentification, please feel free to comment if you are 100% correct. Thank you so much Herbie friends! God Bless us all and you guys keep safe always. **

Wow, this was PHENOMENAL!!! Over the TOP!!! THANK YOU!!! (Joy, can you please splice in photos of a monstera deliciosa leaf and a monstera borsigiana (?) leaf, side by side, so we can see the difference you describe?) : )

I love the fuller leafed varieties. Some of them looked like they've had the caterpillars go through.

Thank you very much. I was at a plant shop. I saw something wonderful but no one knew what it was. I need to know. With your help I figured out it is a Monstera Siltepecana. It was driving me crazy.

Thanks a lot for the movie and the one about Raphidphora. But... I stil don't know how to differentiate them (if they are any different). And I bought a plant that has identical leaves to raphidophora tetrasperma but different silhouette (is not leggy at all, more of the share of epipremnum njoy). And now searching the whole internet to learn what I bought (the store was "this is monstera"... Can you help?

Monstera minima… not a monstera. Sad that I cannot find a quality list of monstera species anywhere.
