I agree with you that smudge type of eye makeup makes the eye look more open. It makes the eye more prominent than the eye with just precise eyeliner.

1) matching the outer tip of the wing to the highest point of the middle of the lid, and
2) matching the angle of the wing to the nose-to-eyebrow line ... ... ...

I use this method on my deep-set eyes with the Revlon Colorstay, Line Creation, duel-ended pencil/liner, for anyone looking for an excellent and affordable alternative to the Valentino. Wow, thank you so much for this video. I'm 34 years old and while watching this, I was able to do my eye make up in a way that I feel so confident in.
