My man. Chasing the dream. Mad respect. Failure is not the opposite of success. It’s part of the journey TO SUCCESS

Takes a real man to admit he made a mistake and possibly warn others from making that same mistake. Respect. Hope things get better for you in the near future.

Being honest and recognizing that you may need to re-join the workforce is definitely a sign of maturity. Having a grown man perspective and humble mentality is the real flex, and it's rare to see on social media.

This video is the exact reason so many people love you and follow you. The honesty and transparency you offer is something special and genuine. I think we all are feeling the squeeze right now financially and you're definitely not the only one learning through these difficult circumstances. Praying for a quick sale and easy transition in what you have next!

Lots of respect for the bravery it takes to make a video like this. Better things are ahead, wish you the best Gem!

This too shall pass. You've worked hard to get where you are and that hard work will pay off, even with some bumps in the road. We all wish you well!!

Negative: you bought a house….in this economy!
Positive: your still with us and your kids have a father, your wife has a husband and your still Minty Fresh!

I'll explain why I personally unsubscribed and gave up on the Gempire. But first, let me say that I wish you the best. Based on your persona, I think you are probably a genuine person. I used to rock with Gem and the gang heavily. The channel used to emanate palpable enthusiasm surrounding the hobbies, all from a relatable personality. Early Gem was someone I could vibe with—a slightly ratchet dude, probably older than he looks, who just likes cool stuff. I connected with that. I would watch statue videos at work on the sneak, trying to come up on a Thanos on throne. I legitimately wondered how this dude was hustling up all this cool product. Statues weren't my world, but you made them approachable.

But man, the weekly comic reviews were it. Easy, relatable reviews—not overthought or overly clever. So many reviewers are bitter, overstimulated, and jaded, taking things way too seriously. It was like kicking it with a homie you didn't know messed with comics. Like how strangers in Jeeps wave at each other over shared interest. Fast forward to the ComicTom and Whatnot shine, con controversies—all of it. Everything just kind of went lame duck. The content had a tonal shift towards something more akin to another hand reaching for my pockets.

I will never knock a man for hustling. Get your money. But you guys genuinely messed the game up with Whatnot and CGC. Sure, it would have all happened anyway most likely, but it’s all sketchy, and you guys were the faces of that shift. Fairly or not, that’s your legacy right now. It seemed like everyone was clout-chasing, gassing each other up, trying to be celebrities within a niche hobby while simultaneously turning their backs on it. No reviews, no engagement.

Hell, Tom bought some stuff off me on eBay, made two videos about it, and couldn’t even tag my accounts. Which is okay, but it's not relatable to me. My time is precious, and I'm sure many people feel that way. Unfortunately, I think you were simply used up by bigger players as you took it for granted. Meanwhile people like myself walked away to our regular lives. I wish you all the best, and if you’re going to make content, I hope you find your passion. Best of luck, broski.

There is nothing wrong with having a full time regular stable job. Social media has pushed this narrative of starting your own business and becoming a millionaire with millions of followers. But it takes a lot of hard work, sometime you fail sometimes you win, or if you are lucky, you are born into wealth. Like I said nothing shameful with having a steady source of income with health insurance and benefits from a job, and then doing YouTube on the side .

So raw and honest. It sounds like with your outlook and work ethic you'll land on your feet. Rooting for you Gem!

Yeah, Whatnot drove me away but I still dipped back now and again. I empathise completely with your situation - Mine isn't that dissimilar with each month being extremely difficult. It's exhausting to be worried all the time. I respect your honesty making this video and I hope we both get out of our respective messes!

This video is shockingly honest and open. But you still have everything that matters and way more. And whatever house you "downgrade" to will still be an incredible home that most people in the world could only dream of owning.

You're not downsizing, you're prioritizing. You're the man, we love you and your family.

I filed bankruptcy 25 years ago after my first business venture. Starting working again, busted my ass, and got back on my feet. Today I own my own business again which is very successful! Keep fighting and learning brother! You can do it!

Nobody is perfect Gem. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Growing up, I lived in a large house designed and built by my dad. After he passed away, my mom struggled with the upkeep of such a big place. The house required constant cleaning and repairs, and she started buying unnecessary items to fill the empty spaces left by my siblings moving out. When I moved to Tokyo, I chose a smaller place. From my experience, I realized that larger spaces tend to encourage accumulating things you don't really need.

I’ve been supporting the channel for a while and i have nothing but respect you and the family. Decisions get made. Lessons are learned. Stay strong.

More people need to be honest like you. I struggle everyday trying to help adolescents and adults realize that being an influencer is not a winning lottery ticket. I have seen a huge uptick in teens wanting to drop out of school to pursue this route over the last few years.

I wouldn't wish these kind of issues on anyone. Best of luck turning it around. Good luck on your channel man.
