So 1/3rd of a single parent’s yearly income doesn’t even make it to their pocket because of taxes, and another 1/3rd of their paycheck goes towards the expected costs of raising their kid(s) and that leaves them with 1/3rd of their yearly average income to feed and clothe themselves and other non-children in the household. What they ask of young parents is impossible to sustain. We will reach a breaking point in the next year.

US government doesn’t believe in investing in people. That’s why childcare, education, healthcare are so poorly subsidised. The downside of an overly individualistic culture.

You FORGOT the Average Cost for:
(1) A Ceremonial Marriage
(2) Giving Birth in a Hospital

Don't also forget:
(1) Average Paycheck of a Single Parent removed for TAXES
(2) Average Cost for Rent / Property Taxes Montly
(3) Other Monthly Bills

All add up to:
Bruh, if I can't afford life for 1, what makes you think I can afford life for 3+? (me, partner if sick, children)
Trying to lead a GOOD Life to lead a GOOD Example for a Child is COSTLY.

You forgot to add rent, In California is about 2, 500 that is 30, 000 a year to keep your child in a home. These is just rent of a 1 bed room.

This is the U.S. - we only care that you have the child, after that you're both on your own. (I wish this was /s)

My daughter's daycare is just under 12k a year. Should have clarified when I initially posted the comment.

It’s very simple to avoid all of that hassle! Use condom, iud, have a vasectomy, or, just don’t have sex!

Ok? So there's a problem, how do we solve it? Instead of framing it as "America Cheap"

But that's nothing compared to the cost of birth control

The average cost? I pay double that in child support alone. That's not counting insurance, sports and school expenses

Problem with norway is that everything costs alot, in germany we were 4 people out eating dinner and the total cost was 70€, in norway we had to pay up 80€ for 2 people at dinner on a lower standard restaurant🤷🏼‍♀️

Wonder what goes into that "Average"?

Amazing that childcare is now more expensive in the US than in my country, where wages are considerably higher.
