Can We Breathe on Mars? NASA's New Method For Transforming the Red Planet

#science #shorts #space

NASA's Perseverance Rover, armed with a toaster-sized instrument called MOXIE, has just turned the Red Planet's carbon dioxide into oxygen. This isn't just a neat party trick, it's a groundbreaking first that could revolutionize space travel. Imagine astronauts not only breathing Martian-made air but also using it as rocket fuel for their return trip! To launch a crew of four from Mars, we'd need 15,000 pounds of rocket fuel and a whopping 550,000 pounds of oxygen. MOXIE's successful test run, producing 10 minutes worth of breathable oxygen, is a promising start. So, hats off to NASA for making Mars feel a little bit more like home!

Martian astronaut: "sir, if we only have enough fuel for a one way trip, how will we return?"
NASA: "We're sure you will figure it out"

I have an idea how we can colonize Mars
Step 1 - sending an unmanned craft to Mars containing food supplies oxygen and minerals
step 2 - sending another craft containing necessary mechanical equipment and crue shelter for future crewed mission and also a oxygen making machine that nasa used used in perseverance
Step 3 - another mission for agriculture purpose
Step 4 - final crewed mission to Mars
Note - this should be done with help of
Nasa, space x, roscosmos and isro

They can use it here on earth to clean up our carbon dioxide and reverse global warming 😮😅😅😅

NASA & SpaceX and Space Force need to get to Mars in the year 20203 or 20204 the Sooner the better.

They should save our planet instead of leaving it

If you get on that rocket going to mars, you'll not be needing fuel for a return journey because you won't be returning. Bye have a good flight

Over 30 years late, they were given the information and complete mission ideas by a couple scientist and laughed

Container size Oxygen production, Mokie the toaster size unit.

Still can't make an atmosphere. The gravity well of mars is too small to hold anything close to the planet. Like at the end of Total Recall, all that steam would fly out into space.

So the carbon dioxide in earth's atmosphere could be turned into oxygen in years to comes. Great stuff.

Wonderful news I hope within the next 50, 000 years mars or some other planet can take a turn in living on.
Earth is just getting too dirty.
Dirty in different ways?
Smoke littering a lot of other things.
A new planet can be a new beginning of life and thinking about it how much difference would it have we can rename countries States and even have a new breed of animals as pet's.

Yeah, so how long did it take MOXY to produce 10 minutes of breathable Oxygen? Hours, days, weeks? 🤔
