In this video I will explain the tensor matrix representing a MONOclinic crystal structure where 2 of the angles of the cube is 90 degrees and the 3rd angle is greater than 90 degrees-which means the cube leans in 1 direction.

Next video in the series can be seen at:

It would really help if the topic's playlist link also in the description...

Youtube Recommended this video to me. This video explains how you could make a program that can rotate a rectangular box around x, y, z axis.

I don't understand the reason by which is necessary the sigma31. Please, may anybady help?

It is confusing to me why ac multiplied by cos beta rather than cos theta. Though, this is a perfect channel and the lecturer is certainly talented.

It is not clear to me why do we have sigma31 element in this tensor. It seems to me logical that only the first tensor part (first row) should have two nonzero elements (sigma11 and sigma13) and the other two rows should have only diagonal elements that are not zero. Only ZY sides of the cube are not perpendicular to respective X axis, the rest two pairs of cube sides are perpendicular to respective Y and Z axes. Why do we have sigma31?

stress is a field tensor not a matter tensor, why should it conform to crystal symmetry??

there a mistake in"THINK it must be xz and zx not xx and xz

.... What... That matrix is supposed to be the metric tensor... it’s a matrix of dot products... There wasn’t even an explanation of its necessary symmetry... Like what...
