Budget provided ‘cost of living relief’ for millions of Australians

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says the budget was an important one given “Australia is facing some significant challenges”.

“We’ve provided cost of living relief for millions of Australians by halving the fuel excise,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“We’ve provided a boost to the low-and middle-income tax offset.

“There’s a good suite of measures here, which hopefully will alleviate some of the costs of living pressures that Australian families are under."
