Steve had purchased a pair of pants from Patagonia, after several wears and a couple pounds later, he realized the belt on his pants was broken.
So, he sent the pants back to Patagonia to take advantage of their Ironclad Guarantee. Then he put them away at the end of last winter.
Now that cold weather has arrived in Ontario, he decided to get his favourite pants out again. Soon he realized the ass end was completely blown out. You could basically see through them. So, he sent them back to Patagonia AGAIN. They sent him $123.17 to buy a new pair.

That is what makes Patagonia so great. Name another clothing company that will basically pay to replace your used, old, ass less pants. I'll wait.

Is Patagonia clothing on the expensive side? Yes, we can't argue that, but little stories like this is what makes them a fantastic company.

I have had a similar experience. I have a Patagonia Parka, which I have had since about 2005. In 2020, the main zipper broke. I sent it back, and they reolaced the shell of the parka and sent it back to me. So I now have a new parka. Sure it was an expensive parka, but it now seems that the high cost was well worth it.
