First impressions on the TLX when I had one as a loaner for my 4G TL 6MT, I wasn't impressed. The wife bought one, and after driving it a lot more I actually really enjoy and like the car. Not the fastest, but still fun to drive and nice to look at.

I have a base TLX 2018 V6 Sh-awd, it was from the CPO Section during the Pandemic.. No issues with the recalls so far, and I havent even brought it in for recalls unless the problem appears later on. Then, I will still have access to the remedy at no cost. Bought it at 32k mileage. Now, it's just under 75k mileage from 4 years of ownership, snow and everything. Just did a transmission and transfer fluid change at 74K. Along with Oil change just for fun. Replaced spark plugs at 65k just for fun. I replaced old ROTORS AND PADS with new OEM rotors and pads after 1 year of ownership. For some reason, the old rotors were warped causing the vibrations when braking (This was my biggest cost on repairs since owning the car). Since then, the past three years of ownership the new rotors havent warped yet. Such a relief, i think people just suck at driving, and cause rotors to warp based on their shitty braking reflexes. It feels really good to press on the brakes at high speeds now. Painted my calipers so the rust doesnt affect it in the long run. I did flush brake fluid when it was due. So far, it's still my baby. Nowadays, I joy ride that boy like there's no tomorrow out on the roads, and it's still kicking. Such a beautiful, naturally aspirated V6. That being said, it's an underrated vehicle. Very reliable, just keep up on the maintenance. Dont wait, just do it early. When my mileage hits around 90k I plan to change timing belt along with everything needed in that service. I dont wait around for things to deteriorate at the last second. Always stay on top, and your car will always be at it's happiest. Never seen a single check engine light on this Acura. Do I recommend this car? Only for someone who wants a luxury that's reliable. But it's definitely not the fastest car out there because of the weight. But it beats most cars on the road even with SH-awd. Besides, I ride motorcycles, there's no better speed than that. I do reccomend this car, but make sure you know the maintenance needed to be done that the previous owners didnt get to take care of.

Regarding the STOP AND START. That's some garbage stuff.. For the past 4 years of ownership, I've gotten used to *everytime i get in my TLX press the button to turn it off* whoever came up with that STOP AND START garbage needs to be fired immediately. Even today they still run that bullshit in their new TLX's. Just sad. That shit really fucks up your starter.

Acura Integra is suppose to be the least expensive luxury car however the newer mazdas actually look pretty damn luxurious inside! 💯

I own a 2018 TLX ASPEC SHAWD V6 w/Anthracite Gray Metallic, Red interior. It’s the best car I have ever owned. I leased it brand new and decided to keep it. It has 39k miles. I want to get an MDX TYPE S ADVANCE but currently it has no appeal or updates that I feel are any better than my TLX. I love my TLX.

2020 A-SPEC looks better even than the new ones (and I think there is more room in the back seat).

Glad I came across your video. I was never a car "enthusiast" but as I've been shopping around more this has caught my attention. Do you think I should go for a TLX with SH-AWD or stay safe with a Subaru Legacy (at least an XT trim with the turbo)? Coming from a 2013 Impreza, i've never had a fun car to drive. It's always been a tool to get from A to B. I'm trying to find a good balance of safety, reliability, and enjoyability.

Does shifting your car from park to reverse, reverse to drive, or vice versa delay? I have heard many ppl saying this model lags pretty bad (not sure about the 2021+ TLX), especially in emergent situations where the car can't react fast enough which can be dangerous.

Hey man, Great video. I’m thinking about buying a 2018 A-Spec awd v6 with clean title 45k miles on it for 23k (us) but i’m not sure if it’s worth it. It hasn’t been brought in yet for the recall but it apparently has no issues and is still under warranty for another 15 months. I’m not sure if this is a good deal or if I should just look for a 2021 acura tlx 2.0 with tech package with about the same mileage maybe 10k more. I’m still in school so i need something that will give me the least amount of problems! Which do you think would be the best option? Thanks!

I had a 2017 Acura TLX technology package good car and took it in for the recall. While waiting i was looking around at the dealership and traded for 2021 Aspec low miles how many miles are on your car?

Hows does handling feel in your opinion? For example, does the front end feel sharp when you make a 90 degree right turn?

I been around the Acura since the 2nd gen Legend. By far the best looking and selling sedan for Acura is the 3G TL.

4G TL was a step back on the looks department but added 3.7 SHAWD and keep the 6 MT. The only down size was gas mileage.

1st Gen TLX was a total disappointment for me, interior and exterior design was way lazy even compare to a 4G TL. The biggest issue i had is that ZF9 follow by cheap interior even the Aspec and Advance package (US model). Hell I remember in 2018 I walk in the dealership and they had a blue with red interior with sticker price of $45k "non negotiable".

We end up taking a 2017 NSX for test drive.

fast forward 2023 TLX isn't really up to competition in term of techs and specs. 2023 still wired carplay and android auto, no HUD unless you go for Advance trims. Performance is abysmal low compare to other competitor.

Build quality is straight trash from factory and how the cooperate handle complaint is beyond me. E.G the rod bearing "contact us for VIN illegibility" lol so Acura got to decided who cover and who doesn't?

They build the vehicle should they able to provide a VIN range that affected?

I gave Acura the last benefit of doubts by test drove not 1 but 2 different TLX Type S earlier this year. 0-80 MPH the car shifting 4 time (giving impression of fast) but any guy been driving decent performance know it far from "fast". During test drive notice dash, steering wheel rattle (on a brand new 2023 production car), fender is mis-alighted with hood and headlight.

Price? $67, 000 with AMD and accessory installed. Again non-negotiable price... Mind you in today market at $67k is approaching a used G80 M3 Comp and a 2015+ GTR.

so at $55k it fail to catch a Kia Stinger GT and got pretty much gapped by any other 6 Cylinder turbo charge car that are 7 years old or Infiniti Q50/60 RS, Audi S4, MB 45 AMG, BMW M340i. Hell even outdated motor Lexus IS500 can easily dusted "high performance Type S"

Fake engine noise is pretty bad, Auto up shift in Sport+ manual is super lame oh did I mentioned it shifted at 6k despite the redline at 6200?

SHAWD no longer top dog, they may be the best for the money since Evo is now long gone and only Subbie STI left, if you ever had a chance to drive a G80 M3 Comp Xdrive and Audi S4 you will see easily see why.

As far as reliability goes, BMW has step up their game with B58/S58 combo with ZF8 and it been proven reliable and best performance for the job. Meanwhile Acura put a limp mode in their 355 HP SHAWD to prevent drivetrain damage is pretty lame.

You got Canadian specs where rear seat is heated that not the case for the US model, you guy also has option with 360 back up cam in the A-spec where the US A-spec model is not available.

I SAW the TLX SH-AWD race car running. Stock block, heads, crank, and fuel system. Two turbos, around 550 to 600 hp.
