As we go about our daily lives, we are presented with endless opportunities to achieve the feeling of oneness that our souls crave. By doing all things mindfully and deeply, we are able to โ€œtouch the ultimate dimension.โ€ As expressed in the passage which I have shared with you today from the end of Chapter 15 (titled โ€œRight Concentrationโ€) of the book, The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy, and Liberation, by the Vietnamese monk and peace activist Thรญch Nhแบฅt Hแบกnh (1926-2022) (see below), this dimensionโ€”this feeling of absolute onenessโ€”is accessible to us at all times. It is not something that can only be experienced by going to a particular place or participating in a certain event. It is something that exists within our very core; it is who we are.

The ultimate dimension is a quiet space where the boundaries between self and the universe dissolve. It is to be found in the stillness of a sunrise, the quiet rhythm of our breath, and in moments of connection with others. These simple yet profound experiences invite us to remember that we are a part of something much greater, where time and space lose their grip and the sense of oneness with all that is surrounds us. In such moments, we glimpse the truth that everything, from the smallest detail to the grandest horizon, is interconnectedโ€”and we are never truly separate. โ™ฅ๏ธ

โ€œIf you don't have the opportunity to fly to India, please practice walking at home, and you can really hold the hand of the Buddha while you walk. Just walk in peace and happiness, and the Buddha is there with you. The one who flies to India and returns with his photo taken with the Buddha has not seen the real Buddha. You have the reality; he has only a sign. Don't run around looking for photo opportunities. Touch the real Buddha. He is available. Take his hand and practice walking meditation. When you can touch the ultimate dimension, you walk with the Buddha. The wave does not need to die to become water. She is already water. This is the Concentration of the Lotus Sutra. Live every moment of your life deeply, and while walking, eating, drinking, and looking at the morning star, you touch the ultimate dimension.โ€

It's an interesting topic to think about. Really the world we usually live in, we tie together all these perceptions and feelings about the outside world, and get lost in that. It becomes our reality. Worrying about things that are inaccurate perceptions of people, or past/present/future events. If you look at an animal or a child playing, they're very much living in the moment. Hyper aware of the moment they're in. And when you're at your most content, I think you're usually doing something similar. Very absorbed by something that is happening. Like simple examples would be eating delicious food, or stepping into a relaxing bath. You're absorbed by the true reality of the moment. Rather than living in a constructed reality in your head. I suppose forms of mindfulness and meditation can bring you back to the base reality of existence. Nearer to truth, which is surely a more stable place to inhabit :)

Thanks for sharing this, Ms. Kabir.

This passage is a message about "Heaven on Earth", as Jesus and Buddha spoke of in their varied ways. We are already in the ultimate dimension. "Escaping the cycle of death and reincarnation" as some might put it, doesn't mean staying dead, it means staying alive! There is an entire universe of intelligent, ancient beings of light, with their own separate DNA, in fact, living within you! They are called Mitochondria and they are in every cell of your body. They are the keys to evolution.

I am not sure I really understand the feeling of oneness that TNH is teaching about.
From my own personal life, I experience a feeling of oneness when all the little parts of my life fit together as an integrated whole. When parts of my life are disjointed, when my actions cause cognitive dissonance, when I am not living up to my values, when my relationships do not fit, then I feel like I am a mess of conflicting wants and actions. It is a truly horrible feeling. Over the years it seems like something was always lurking in the background--there was always some shadow chasing me, some part of my life that didn't fit anywhere. The last 3 years, my life has become integrated more and more. There are no hidden agendas, relationships, activities, no other version of me that hides what he's doing. My heart is single in intent. It is a profound feeling of freedom. I'm not perfect, but when I make a mistake I can fix it without letting it drag on.
Without my life being integrated, I found it impossible to live in the moment. It was like a dark shadow chased me, forever reminding me about what didn't fit.
All this is kind of hard to explain in a yt comment. I hope it makes sense, and I hope it connects to what TNH was addressing. Thanks for the video, Lubna. This is an important topic, one of the most important When it comes to living a good life. ๐Ÿ’›
