Ballet, but make it a comedy 🎭

Coppélia is a ballet about an eccentric toymaker, a playful young woman, and a rather foolish fellow. Here, the toymaker, Dr. Coppelius is thrilled believing that his doll has come to life when in reality it's merely Swanilda playing a trick on him.

Edit: it’s been explained to me that it’s disrespectful ballet etiquette! I do musical theater for a living so I genuinely had no clue and was confused cause I’ve seen other clips of people laughing at ballet acting

Coppelia was one of the first ballets I ever saw and is honestly such a core memory for me! 🩵🩵🩵

You can tell that towards the end of the clip, she is in pain. When she blinks, grits her teeth a bit, and her eyebrows flinch, she’s clearly hurting a lot. People don’t realize how painful walking en pointe like that is. She makes it look easy.
