Is MewTwo Good in Competitive Play? #pokemon #shorts

The issue isn't if Mewtwo is a good or bad pokémon but if he actually works well in comparison with how well the meta works

Mewtwo should gain an ability called "Flawless" which cuts all super-effective damage in half. It would fit the lore really well. Mewtwo should have no weaknesses!

i think mewtwo needs a new offensive ability. protean, neuroforce, tinted lens, stakeout, sheer force, i don't really care what but pressure and unnerve hold it back so much. imagine a sheer force life orb mewtwo with psychic, dark pulse, boltbeam or something, it would be really strong but not op since it's restricted

Mewtwo should be given a buff to be on par with newer legendaries. Maybe a signature ability that allows it to hit dark type Pokemon for neutral damage with Psychic type attacks.

The problem with Mewtwo (and a number of other legendaries) is that its ability, "pressure", is absolutely awful, while the actually relevant legandaries all have some kind of meta-warping abilities. If Mewtwo and the other "pressure" legendaries are ever going to be truly meta, they'll need to have abilities that aren't borderline useless.

pokemon: lets make the strongest pokemon in theory, give it a cool backstory that justifies it being strong and let it have a wide movepool

a raddish on a spoopy horse with a busted ability, busted signature move, with the most "bash your skull into the wall" bland ass no movepool - all overtuned stats for no reason, with the most ass-pull story of "he was a strong king, now he's weak, now hes strong with his honse"

People are all wanting Mewtwo to be a powerful weapon for competitive battles, but that's not what Mewtwo wants :(

moving 30 of its stat points from its attack and buffing its defense to 105 ea would make it amazing imo still not the best option for restricted mons but a solid pick

With all that coverage it be cool to give it a tinted Lens type ability so it can spam cover age and always get at least a neutral hit.

Of course the attack stat would be wasted if you only use special attacks. Pokemon do not need to be min maxed in order to be good.

If the meta didn't threaten it so severely, I would run assault vest mewtwo with a lot of investment in its bulk, with its already good special attack and speed along with terrain boosts, helping hand and speed control to make up for the lack of investment into those stats (although it'll still outspeed a lot of things) would make it a very good pokemon that's hard to remove and able to threaten big damage back, or consistent damage at least without the support. Imagine pairing it up with indeedee and using terrain boosted helping hand expanding force. Such a shame that the meta can't allow it to thrive

The opportunity cost of using mewtwo over something like Calyrex or Kyogre is too big a deficit
