Ruth Snyder, Anna Antonio, Eva Coo, Frances Creighton, Helen Fowler, Martha Beck, and Ethel Rosenberg are sure to be among the last women who will ever be executed in the State of New York, once the national showcase for capital punishment.

The execution of females, no matter what the means, is truly rare in America. Women are thought of as mothers. And many females who become involved in crimes and violence are usually perceived to be victims of unscrupulous men: six of the seven women who met death at Sing Sing were executed along with their male partners.

I'm Irish, Poor Irish. My Father said he watched the Courts give a Woman 15yrs for stealing a loaf of bread for her Children, then not two minutes later that same Judge let a banker go free who had been charged with fraud. My Father told me from the time I was very, very young, "JoAnne, there's a law for the rich and a law for the poor. It doesn't matter what crime it is or if you really even did it and money pays for the best attorney" My Father would be well over 100 now and it was true then and it still holds true today ❤

I'm not a huge fan of Capital Punishment, but honestly, I think we've veered too far in the other direction. I saw a case recently where a woman's boyfriend raped and killed her child. He got 23 months. Unfortunately, murders are becoming so common you'd need several front pages just to report the daily murders, and sentences are getting shorter and shorter.

If there was ever a candidate for capital punishment it was Martha Beck. One of the murders Beck and boy friend committed was that of a mother and small child. Martha was a large woman, well over 200 pounds. It is said she had trouble sitting in the chair. She was given more than the usual amount of shocks to stop her heart. She went quietly to her death and said good bye before the switch was thrown. She did not deserve mercy and the electric chair showed her none.

Yes….Anna. I do hesitate in her case. I also agree that I’m not a fan of the death penalty but….there are some who truly deserve it. Like the creep that killed his wife and two daughters and put them in an oil tank…he deserves it.

When you sit on death row for 20+ years (California 🙄), the death penalty is no deterrent, but if you commit your crime in 1970 you’re on trial, convicted and sentenced in 1971, and dead a month later, I think it would most certainly be a deterrent

The case of Anna is just infuriating. How could they not at least grant her a new trial with the new evidence of a confession and the killer saying she was innocent?? The very least they could do would be to give her a fair trial with all the evidence. I dont understand why they kept refusing her?

The death penalty is not imposed as a deterrent to crime. It’s a penalty for a specific crime that was committed. It’s the death penalty, not the death deterrent.

What’s the point of an autopsy on a person that was executed? The cause of death is evident, it just seems like a waste of taxpayer money

What a great story. Ruth Snyder. Well told.
Poor Anna - This was very powerful.
I'm sorry I won't get to see Lori Daybell featured in a DR video. She is worse than any of the featured women.

A battered wife should have never been executed nor murder be the only solution.

I think that if you do have to have the death penalty, letting them sit on death row for years and years is ridiculous, get it over with once they have done all their appeals. Once an appeal has been denied, be done with it.

I believe the best death penalty would be firing squad
