student nurse here, i have so much respect for the hca's. if u guys went on strike the ward would fall apart. i continuously learn from u guys everyday, u r always smiling and there for the patients and us students.... even after you've done your 10 th last office n u have another 10 to go u will still muster a smile. sort of jealous of u guys in a way as u get to be more hands on, whereas rn's these days are normally just doing paperwork which is not proper nursing as far as im concerned. either way THANK U NHS and HCAS U R BEAUTIFUL <3

I completed another shift on a respiritory ward today as a clinical volunteer, an i mentioned to the matron my aspirations to become a HCA, she in turn have told me that the trust is looking at a potential fastrack scheme for clinical volunteers wanting to get into healthcare as a career.
