Have we learned *nothing* from the show Hoarders?!?
You can never really tell who this disorder will take hold of or when & why it does.
Kindness & lack of judgment is best.
Thank you for doing this gracious work for those in need of it 🙏🏻

When my room got bad from depressive states I always tried my hardest to keep everyone out of it. I would clean the kitchen and common areas when I got bursts of energy to make sure no one else suffered from my negligence, but my own room was just so hard to tackle. I had enough room to walk to my bed and everything else was chaos. When I was good enough to get up and leave the house for groceries or college I’d make sure I would finally shower, do my hair and dress nice. I didn’t want anyone, strangers on the street or my college classmates, to think that there was anything wrong with me. It’s so hard to admit that you’re struggling you’ll do everything in your power to keep up appearances. You’re truly an angel to these people you clean for.

I hired a specialist organiser to help. Ive spent 3k! And we are nearly better and its worth every penny. People say "cant you just do it or find someone cheaper?" - well, they'd think nothing of spending dollars on nights out or holidays, joiners and gardeners, plastic surgery or designer clothes! 3k over three years isnt that bad and its changing my family life. Thank you for helping to end the misogynistic stigma surrounding hiring housekeeping assistants!

Not only this, most family members are so busy with their own lives. They won't/ can't come over and help.

thank you for wearing protective gear. I see so many people who make this sort of content and don’t wear anything to protect themselves. Thank you for taking care of yourself.

This is true, there is also slight societal pressure to not invite people over if your house is messy, as I grew up my parents were not helpful with cleaning, and told me I couldn't have friends over if my room was messy.

This sticks with you as you grow older and if you're depressed or simply struggling keeping clean it becomes very hard to seek out help because you'll feel like a mistake, it's a very dreadful feeling when you feel like you can't reach out over a mess you made and should be cleaning yourself.

People who say people like this are lazy, or inconsiderate or filthy or whatever negative comment are only making things worse, since people who struggle like this most likely think that about themselves every day, they need help and support to fet through, not more shame that will cause them to try hide it even more.

Thank you for having empathy for people like this and allowing them to have a fresh start even if it isn't certain it'll last, it'll still make a difference in that persons mindset, and may cause them to be more comfortable to reach out❤

I grew up in a home like this
When we asked for help from people all we got was judgement, our family didn't want to help
And as a kid I wasn't allowed to speak up

You're saving people
You're making a difference
You're not judging and that's exactly what people need when they ask for help

Thank you ❤

You're filled with compassion. Many of us don't have friends and family, are struggling with mental or physical disabilities, and just trying to get by day by day.

She is so kind for spreading awareness, helping people get their house cleaned, having the best voiceovers and doing it for free ❤❤❤

Children should not be living in this environment.

Thank you for explaining this important point. People who are depressed often hide it well. They learn to appear "normal".

As long as it's just her having to live like that, she's got my sympathy.
But the moment they drag others, be it children/pets/grandparents etc, into this mess, that's a whole different story.
I've rescued animals out of the custody of hoarders volunteering for a shelter.
When you have to catch cats in all that mess, some sick and injured others dead in different states of decay, sympathy flies out the window fast.
One person had 60 dead cats rotting in a one story building.
We rescued another 78 alive, every single one of them sick.
Just for the guy moving and starting the same shit again.
We had to repeat all the seven times in total till he was put into assistant living. That guy killed several hundred animals.
That shit is why I quit animal rescue.

My mom lives like this. She won’t acknowledge that she needs help, and there’s nothing I can do if she’s actively going to fight me helping her. I love that you help people, and that the people are willing to accept help
