The movie rule is that if you see it in a movie it's already been in use for 20 years. Like how in 80's action movies they show the military still flying the UH-1 Huey Helicopter like in Predator (1987) but in real life they were replaced by the Blackhawk Helicopter in 1979 roughly the same time the HUMVEE was introduced.

During sea trials they’re having issues with sea life attaching to it. They’re working on solving that issue before its maiden voyage and yes it can go dormant on the sea floor for several days conserving energy
