I became a firefighter because of Superman. The point of Superman isn’t that he’s the strongest, the point of Superman is that he’s a symbol of hope. He’s an inspiration to everyone, someone who inspires everyone to do good not because they have to but because they can. Superman has the power to become a dictator like in injustice, but instead he only wants to help others because he can. He had every right to be evil, he lost his family, his planet, and was unlike anyone else on earth. Yet he didn’t, he only kept pushing himself to be that symbol of peace. I learned from that message. I wanted to have the power to help people not because I was forced to, but because I can. Now, I do that every week and I’m never giving up.
