You can also use a fixed base router and just adjust the bit depth manually.

Great idea with the blocks on the corners. I’m about to use the router on a bookshelf top, and I’m going to use this method

As I watched you router that edge with blowing sawdust EVERYWHERE IN YOUR WIFE'S KITCHEN and she with the vacuum trying to capture ALL OF IT! I could only think of my own wife in her Kitchen. (Minimizing even more cleaning!) Good job and never forget your wife is really a Great Blessing in your life. #SpitShineClean

If I have a mitered corner joints already glued up around my table top, would it still be ok to router this edge afterwards, or will it ruin my mitered corners? thx

Can I ask where you purchased the butcher block? Have you ever used the butcher block islands from Hardware Reflections at Home Depot?

Where did you find the bit? I cannot find a 3/8 round over bit with a 1/4" filet thanks

What radius bit did you use for the top edge? And did you also router the bottom edge to soften that edge?

For beginners, how do you set the depth of the router to get this look?

What kind of router bit did you use? I want to replicate it on my kitchen project and am not too familiar with routers/bits.

Which router bit was that one in the video

Hey, you don’t have to use a plunge router base to do what you’re explaining! You can just use a fixed base & adjust the height of the base. You may want to think about editing your video to include that so people don’t think you have to buy a plunge router to do this project, but otherwise, great video!

If you rout the end grain first, you won't get tear out at the corners.
