New homeowner here and I cannot thank you enough! Lived in apartments all my life so I was clueless to all these things

Great video! A few ideas:

Regional - Fall: Clean out gutters of leaves/debris
Regional (freeze zones)- Fall/Winter: Turn off exterior spigots & sprinkler system/store hoses/blow out sprinkler/install freeze guards on exterior spigots
Regional - Spring (freeze zones): Turn on sprinkler/check for leaks

Spring - Pressure Wash Concrete Sidewalks/Driveway/Porches

Annual - Clean faucet/shower sediment filters
Annual - Seal shower/bathroom tile grout (if req'd)
Annual - Clean / lube garage door hinges/rollers/opener chain

Seasonal - Check batteries for smart devices (door locks, sensors, etc)

I would add things like checking for WiFi firmware updates. Most people never think about that, but it's important to do.

I keep a plastic box under my kitchen and bathroom sinks. You can get them cheap at Target, Walmart, etc. If I have a slow leak it will go into the box. I learned this lesson when I had a very slow leak in my garbage disposal, which destroyed a few floorboards right by the sink. I store stuff in the box, so I don't lose any room under the sinks.

Nice! I'm going to use this to augment my quarterly checklist which includes running a defrost cycle on the fridge/freezer, washing the metal stove hood fan filter, cleaning the drain filter on the clothes washer, cleaning the drain filter and adding water softener salt to my dishwasher. Yearly I also lubricate all door hinges, pressure wash the garbage/compost/recycle bins and descale the furnace humidifier unit.

Thanks for this very helpful video. Also check for wiggle in balcony and stair rails. Since you opened the door with the lawn mower, I'm going to add an annual inspection of your vacuum cleaner. Check for clogged pathway, especially near the beater bar. Make sure the beater bar actual turns, and cut the accumulated hair off the beater bar.

An "every few years" section might make sense too. I just replaced my hot water heater anodes recently.

Is also consider:
- Defrost freezer coil annually.

Great video and checklist.

I would add, checking the shutoff valves for your individual sinks and toilets. It's not something you think about but if you have to replace a toilet flapper or a valve seat/spring set in a sink and those don't work you're only option is to shut off the cold water before your water heater or shut off the water at the curb. 2 years ago my mother asked me to fix 2 sinks that were dripping. No problem... But the shut off valves didn't work. They just spun. They were the older global style. I checked the rest of the house and I ended up having to replace all of the shutoff valves except the guest bath which was rarely used and the coldwater shutoff for the whole house. I also had to replace the valve seats and springs for all sinks. This would have been a enormous bill from a plumber. It's one thing to have them check but to have them actually break out tools... Totally different price range.

Great tips but I would recommend redesigning the checklist to remove all the green from the background. That can use up a ton of ink for no reason.

I always put a couple drops of light oil in the felt washers of my bathroom fans. Both sides of the motor has a hole to do this. The lint really sucks the motor dry over time. Air circulating fans have bushings so I do them too. Thanks for the videos.

Replace your water supply lines to your sinks if the lines are more than 5 years old. Especially if they are still the builder grade. Replacing builder grade valves too.

Great list. I would also include changing your smoke/CO detector batteries twice a year.

Snowblower every fall.
Check battery backup monthly (ugh, mine runs all the time too)
Checking caulk around replacement window at least yearly.
Every 3 years replace water heater anode.

I definitely need to check bathroom vent. Thanks for the video! I'll be watching next.
