Turbocharge Your Home Maintenance Checklist with These 5 Hacks
Показать описание
Get your house ready for the Summer months with this simple spring home maintenance checklist. In total I run through 5 projects that ought to be done semi-annually. I like to perform each of these tasks in the fall + spring, to keep things running smoothly.
Products / Tools used
First, we'll start with some dehumidifier maintenance. These machines don't require much in the way of upkeep but there is some! Specifically, we want to clean out the air filter in the machine to ensure its running at peak capacity.
Next, we'll take steps to properly maintain our water softener. This involves 3 sub-steps, specifically, breaking up any bridging that has occurred, adding new pellets to the machine, and finally, running an Iron Out cycle.
Third, we'll replace the HVAC filter. I like to do this semi-annually, though depending on the width of your filter you may need to do it more often. If I were to give one home maintenance tip for new home owners, it would be to not neglect changing this filter on a regular basis. Doing so is going to help ensure you and your family are breathing clean air year round!
The last item in our home maintenance checklist involves preparing our air conditioner to run at top speed all summer long. For that, I like to vacuum out the unit and remove any visible debris. After that, i'll run a hose over the fins so make sure nothing is obstructing the machine from breathing as it should.
This is not an exhaustive spring home maintenance checklist, but its a good start!
