A low-cost global equity index tracker is a very popular option for those on the financial independence journey in the UK. In this video I talk through the process of choosing a global equity index tracker for my Vanguard Stocks & Shares ISA.

Great video! I wish Vanguard had a S&S LISA. That was the Government bonus could pay for the platform fees etc. Then I could ignore the fees and focus on the funds!

Thanks for this, a useful summary. I have a fair amount of vls 80, and am looking to diversify a bit and perhaps reduce my UK exposure, as I also live in the UK. Sounds like veve would be a wise choice.

Excellent video - VG Global All-Cap for me, though.

sorry, would you opt for 💯 equity or blended approach if investing in index funds for a long period. Just your opinion

I currently have a sipp with fidelity UK. 60% in the Acc version of veve, vhvg. And 40% in a Vanguard UK gilt index etf. My platform charge is capped at just £45 per annum and £10 dealing charges to buy or sell. The problem at the moment is my gilt fund is down - 27%. I have already done my once a year rebalance earlier this year. So sold some equities and brought some more gilts at a bit lower cost. But I have about 9 yrs until retirement hopefully, and I'm worried the gilts might not recover. What do you think, is that time frame long enough, will the gilts recover their value if the UK goes into a recession. The positive side, I guess is if the gilts fall further then when I next rebalance I will be buying at an even lower price and getting higher income

You mentioned the ftse all cap had more growth over 10 years than veve. Doesn't that make up for the higher costs of it?

Does Veve reninvest dividents as an accumulation fund would, or do I have to re invest the dividends manually when using Vanguard Veve etf ?

Thanks 👍

With 80000 to invest in a SIPP would you invest in one go in january 2021 or do dollar cost averaging over 12months

I have some VWRL in a trading (non-ISA) account on a platform, and I have found that because dividends are paid in USD, I am unable to choose the platform's "automatic reinvestment of dividends" feature for this holding. Just something to bear in mind.

Good video however I have seen less investors investing in VEVE than VWRL. Why?

Would you choose the S&P 500 over VEVE? if you could only invest up to £5000 a year?

I’m surprised that you didn’t mention Vanguards 0.15% fee for holding funds, on top of the 0.12% OCF fee. So total cost is 0.27% for VEVE.

Great video !, i’m currently invested in the Vanguard 100% percent life strategy and also the Ftse all cap, both in my pension and ISA.

It’s very relevant what are you say as regards to the cost for veve compared to the other Vanguard trackers.

I’m considering changing some of my hundred percent life strategy to Veve instead, i’m not a fan of the high UK weighting in the lifestrategy 100% .

I would have thought a Vanguard could offer lower cost world trackers to be honest, given vanguards ethos to keep costs as low as possible.
