Put in everything to make all surfaces and engines work, just for fun. Maybe even flaps for a real slow fly by. That would test the Saylors.

I did a review of this plane on rcgroups and also posted a YouTube video with the title "FX B17 Micro Radio Controlled plane from Banggood". I found exactly the same as RCSaylors that the propellers flew off as soon as I opened the throttle. One of them is still in the park where I lost it. There is a trick to fix this - put a tiny piece of thread through the hole in the prop THEN push the prop back on. It's actually very easy to do with these props because the hole for the prop shaft goes right through to the front of the prop. The thread has the effect of jamming the prop on the shaft so it won't come off. Cut off any thread that sticks out at the back or the front with a sharp knife or razor blade. A tiny amount of superglue also applied through the hole at the front gives extra insurance.

The other problem I had was that the plane simply would not climb, no matter how much throttle I applied. To fix this I had to give the elevators a tiny bit of up - about 1- 2mm(1/16 inch) at the trailing edge - and fix them in that position with glue or sticky tape. Then it flew quite well, as you can see in my video.

However, I agree with RCSaylors, you should give this one a miss, unless you have a particular affection for the B-17 Flying Fortress. There are much better two channel differential thrust planes than this available cheaper. My own favourite is the C-17, also available from Banggood. It looks much better, flies much better and has refinements such as dual rates and trims.

You know it's a lemon when even Popeye gives up! LOL

I had just received mine the b 17 works best with the accessories included gears etc.and I also found that adding plastic scale moded kit detail pieces like turrets tail gun and nose window with tooth pick guns helped it fly so much higher due to weight and drag added which allowed to ride the wind like a track and a much easier recovery

A similar design plane like this is about $18-$30 check it out.

By the way, the tinny prop have spare selling in banggood and AliExpress.. pretty cheap.

I would advise to put a little CA glue for the prop to hold with the motor shalf:-)

A little advise, I'd paint the props high vis orange so you can find em easy. Also just lightly glue them on

Well thats part of the benefit of watching the RCSaylors. You learn whats good and nit good to buy. Either way we all learn something.

Just so you know Nate, they used brightly lit and decorated planes for staging the bombers to get the units lined up and arranged for large sorties. I did research on it and the colors were amazing. Many were Patriotic themed. Those planes had no guns or bombs and were strictly used for staging.

I have seen this on Banggood and have wondered if it was any good. Thank you Saylors for answering that question for me! Nate you should check out the old 1960's movie and series called 12 o'clock high about a B-17 bomber crew. It is GREAT to see Popeye out having fun at the flying field with you guys again!

I'd love a fully functioning (full elevator, aileron, fin) Mosquito in that size.

A touch of glue held my props then, with a bit of practice it flies great! I highly recommend it for a bit of light hearted fun flying.

Whoohooo POPEYE is back at the air field..That looked like it was going to be a good little flyer, , , but nope..I would say though a bit of glue on the props it would fly good

I got the Boeing and enjoyed assembling it. It also flies well, in very light wind. Keep up the great work!

I also went over it with drab and ivy green acrylic paint all factored nicely and I have managed to get about 25 30 flights out of it and it's still going strong and surprisingly even with the weight it takes of from concrete well

I got this plane to modify with micro drone motors, I'll use the setup from it to put on a boat or something.
