Guys. We know. There are other Asian reactors with backgrounds in countries like India and Pakistan...etc. No one is denying their "Asian-ness" but the reactors in this episode were probably selected because the book and movie focuses mostly on East Asians and so it just makes sense to select the East Asian reactors. Simple. Just give the outrage a rest and let this ONE small step forward be appreciated.

Not Asian myself, I'm black. But when I first saw the trailer for this movie I got excited! I know how important it is to see people who look like you and and can tell your stories! Representation Matters!

To everyone who's saying that this movie is lacking of other races in Singapore, read the book. The storyline centres a CHINESE family in Singapore. So obviously the main and supporting roles go to the chinese people. And i, myself, a Malay in Singapore, was an extra in the movie. If you watch the whole entire movie, you'd notice there's so many people of all races, especially the Malays and Indians as extras in the movie because that is what Singapore is. Instead of complaining that this Hollywood movie is only representing the chinese people, why not embrace it as OUR movie. Asians have always been underrated in show biz and let CRA be the stepping stone for many asians around the world. So i urge you to support whoever was part of this production by watching this incredible production that took place here in Malaysia and Singapore. We are making history! If we keep working hard, more Asian-centric content will make it.

I'm not asian. I'm black and I really liked this movie. Especially the wedding scene with the water.

yall gotta remember the film is based on the books which is a satire on the wealthy Chinese Singaporean elite so it’s obviously not suppose to represent ALL Asians.

I'm glad that Asians are feeling the representation from Crazy Rich Asians that I ( as a black person) felt from Black Panther

I understand the happiness Jeanie had. I felt that seeing Black Panther. It's good seeing your culture being labeled beautiful, talented, and intelligent instead of being cramed into another stereotypical "black movie"

To the lady who said it's not represent all asian, well true, that's why it's specifically said "Crazy" "RICH" asian lol

"I never felt like I mattered" This, ladies and gentleman, is how the misuse of media to portray and sometimes even glorify just a group of people can affect the lives of the rest. It might be just a movie, and like they said, it may not represent all of you, but it's a start. No one should feel left behind or stereotyped. I hope one day we can see the real diversity and solidarity that we are supposed to have,

The most memorable line was when Rachel's mom responded said to her, "While you may be Chinese and can speak Chinese, you are not the same as them".

I'm a black man and I am excited for this movie and what it could do for the asian culture. Just like how Black Panther brought my people together.

Many people say that Crazy Rich Asians are not diverse enough because they are all Chinese, and let me tell you this; Constance Wu does not have the same Asian experience like say, Michelle Yeoh. Chinese American is not the same as Chinese in Asia. Even Malaysian Chinese is not the same as Hong Kong Chinese. You might be saying "oh they are the same Chinese, what could be so different?". Everything is different.

"Crazy" is supposed to modify the word "rich" rather than "Asians, " i.e. they are insanely rich though not necessarily insane.

The fact that an Asian had to say that it's weird to see Asians portray regular characters instead of just "stereotypical" characters (such as the smart ones, nerdy, rich, and the antagonist) really shows how unappreciated we are. This movie once it debuted has already been a huge success, I have a feeling that "Crazy Rich Asians" is a turning point for us. Hopefully, people will see that we are more than just "smart", but actual people with different roles in life just like everyone else.

For an Asian watching this in Asia, I don't really see the impact as the story line was pretty predictable (to me because I'm an Asian living in Asia :)) ) but after watching this reaction video I get why its making such a fuzz in the West. To me it's just another story about asians, but now I get how that affects Asians in the US.
