Professor V, thank you for another excellent Integral of the Day. Professor V, when I saw this integral, I did it the same way you did by multiplying by the conjugate. After multiplying by the conjugate, the integral is now a simple Calculus one problem. The integral reduces to (square root of (x +1) minus square root of x) dx. Professor V, as you indicated in the video, a u substitution is not needed in order to compute the solution of this integral. All Calculus Two students should know these integrals really well. This is an error free video/lecture on YouTube TV with Professor V from Math TV.
