I connected the microphone to my laptop, but when I tried to speak ... sounds came from the laptop's microphone, not the microphone I connected

when I put the ping dhcp number with -t around 1:50 in the video I kept getting replies in the command prompt. I did not get the same reply 'request timed out' but I still cannot connect to google chrome even though my other browser connects.

Amazing.  On my Windows 7 machine, Internet Explorer 11 is flawed.  Tried both Opera and Chrome, and neither can see internet.  Followed your procedure, and now both Opera and Chrome work perfectly.  This fixed a problem I've dealt with for two years.  Thank you.  (Installed Firefox and it works too.  Don't remember if I tried it before and got the same "no network" message.)
