Happy New Year, History Lovers!! ❤🎆🎉🎈🎊📚📖🕯

Our traditions are to eat cabbage rolls. Little cabbage footballs filled with beef and rice. As it is said cabbage is for good luck. And, you cannot do any laundry because it will wash away your luck for the new year.

Its either corned beef and cabbage or saurekruat dish due to many in my area of the Midwestern region of the US are of Irish and German heritage. My family is of both heritages, but no one likes corned beef. And, they only dine on saurkeraut in the summer on hotdogs.

I now dwell in the Southern region and it's blackeye peas is the dish to bring prosperity to the new year.

Wishing everyone out there a fabulous 2025! Can't wait to share and learn more historical knowledge together. ❤❤❤

In Germanyy, we still have Christmas decorations up until at least 6th January (Epiphany - the day when the 3 wise men arrived at the cradle). But we only put them up on or around the 1st Advent (=4th Sunday before Christmas, so they have not been up that long). And the tree is only put up at Christmas eve (or 1-2 days earlier). In Catholic areas, Christmas decorations stay upt until Mariä Lichtmess (Presentation of Jesus), which is in early February. I leave up my decorations until February, even though I'm not cahtolic, just because I love them.

3:23 What gift did Henry accept? How intriguing. Something too good to refuse...
I only vaguely recall the story KOA doing Henry's sewing, Im sure that's not this...?

My New Year tradition is going to a nearby cafe. I usually walk there, but today, I added seeing a movie with my best friend and his wife. Interesting that it was March 25. I wonder if it's because it was believed that March 25 was the date of the Immaculate Conception?

Heather, I'm a little confused. I joined via patreon but didn't receive a planner at Christmastime although I joined in September (met the 3 month requirement). What am I missing? Or perhaps it is now being shipped...? If I missed a notification, I am sorry.
