A Promise of Spring

The world is a ruin
Broken swords
Ash and bone

Is there nothing to believe in
Fallen heroes
A burning throne

The world is changing
In tales we keep writing
Will we find a new beginning?
Free of war?
Free of games?

For no one will sit
On the Iron throne
The dragon was vanquished
In her madness
With steel and snow

We look to tomorrow
Beyond sorrow
And crumbling halls

We expand our horizons
Beyond maps
And beyond walls

The world is ageing
And cities are rebuilding
For Winter is ending
There’s a promise
Of Spring

And no one will sit
On the Iron throne
Our Kings will be chosen
Like Bran the Broken
The boy who lived
To break the wheel

To break the wheel

On the eastern horizon
Flies her dragon
Out of sight

For nothing remains
Of the Iron Throne
A relic of ruin
Of human undoing
Won’t be the last

Won't be the last

"For Winter is ending." That phrase has touched my heart. It's a touch of reality. It's hard to believe that GOT reached its end and it hurts to say goodbye. Karliene, your songs have always been a beautiful tribute to the series and books. Thanks for sharing your art. You really transported me to Westeros. Thanks for everything.

This song captures the tired serenity of the end. The long peaceful walk home that Jon deserved, away from the madness and war in the South, and back toward Winterfell, to rebuild, to live in the peace he has earned.

After the frigid winter that is season 8, we really need a promise of spring from the prequels..
Then again, winter does not last...spring comes....snows melt..

Why is this song a better ending than the final episode?

The one good thing about the game of thrones ending: Karliene making a song that almost makes me fall in love with the way things ending

Doesn't matter how the show ended, Karliene's songs will last forever.
Karliene is the only Queen I know.

"The dragon was vanquished in her madness with steel and snow."

I didn`t like the idea of Bran becoming the king, but this song changes my mind... Great job. My eyes are watery and I don`t even want to say that it is snow.

It’s amazing. While listening to this, I can feel the sorrow of those who survived the Long night.
I feel the emptyness and desparation but also a flash of hope. It’s the light in the darkness. The promise of spring.

Fantastic job as usual Karliene, I feel like we can draw parallels between the worlds of Westeros and our everyday realities just by listening to the lyrics.
