Search now and search in the future: A look at where we are and the current vector

Abstract: How well DO people search on Google? Although popular opinion is that "everyone is above average," that obviously can't be true. The truth is that self-perceptions of search expertise are often wildly over-estimated and that people, on average, actually use only a fraction of the potential of Google. They both don't know much of what's possible, and don't understand where internet search capabilities are headed. Since the rate of change and improvements isn't slowly down, in this talk I'll examine where we are, and where we're headed, and conclude with some heuristics for teaching research skills in the years ahead.

At 29:00 "you" state that "nobody wants the generic query 'coffee' when they're on their phone" and follow with "it's a very rare thing".

"Very rare" is not "never". I suggest adding the ability to (by the click of a button) be able to de-localise any automatically localised search.

Taking user control away isn't "always" what users want, even if it is "often" what users need.

This means:
- It Is going to be Social
- The dense quantity is staggering
- Results has to be Fast
- The more people ask, the more a piece of information is Evolving . Knowledge information is evolving in the way we ask questions
- Local is the key to find Geo Coded information and map

@maddmaxx636 I was asking what changes you disliked. I only visit yt to watch subs, and occasionally upload. I see that they added spam like related video's and stuff my friends like. But most importantly, they nerfed the efficiency of watching subs. I can't dismiss video's and they take up more space. Only so much video's are displayed, so the only way I can watch them is to open every video in a new tab sequentially, from bottom to top.
Is this what you were referring to?

LOL! This is a good video for people who don't know how to run a computer.
In my opinion, it is simply mislabeled because it was directed to the wrong audience.
Hmmmm, maybe not a good way to launch the new policy because each one should go to the actual "targeted" audience.
