Great tutorial 👍. Mrs C’s images were lovely 👌My preference was B&W, and image F. The last shot was also really nice 👌

Great images again Paul. Personally prefer the B&W images on this type of genre.

Great shots Paul, black and white does it for me for those type of shots. Easy way to work out the exposure for ND's, is to double the time for every stop. So 1/125 - 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, 8 seconds for 10 stop ND

I personally like the b&w ones with forts. Very chill ocean feelings.

Thanks Paul AP BKT very intuitive would never have thought about it with long exposures. I shoot my landscapes in AP and include BRK I use 100m filters must get round magnetic ones always something to learn I'm local to Cobbold's Point, Pin Mill Wrecks, and Dovercourt Lighthouse so I will give it a try Like all your images cheers mate

I use live view and adjust the shutter speed to get the exposure and effect that i am aiming for.

In the past I have always used full manual to take long exposures with an app to work how long the shutter has to be open for so this vlog has cleared a few things up and I can use AP instead. Now I have just got to figure out how to change my camera over to back button focus and decide which button to use. Nice images Paul and like a lot of others I prefer the monochrome images without the forts in view 📷👏

Great video and images from you both my favourite were b/W without forts but dis like colour has well and easy to understand . Loved Mrs Cimages with the rocks. I have the lee app and only found out a couple of months that it had a timer on it lol

Lovely set of images... Prefer the B&W ones without the forts to be honest, think they're a bit distracting on the horizon.

Was out on Minnis Bay (Kent) this morning taking some long exposures myself

I find Groynes such an awesome subject matter, probably been going a bit OTT whenever I've seen them of late - I feel I've managed to get a long exposure correctly (Same sort of method you used), . Annoyingly though, I can never seem to get the lines you see in other shots, no matter what sort of shutter speed I use, although imagine I need more white surf to achieve that effect, that, and timing.

Nice set again, very tranquil video for a change. Found the pictures with the building closer to the groins less distracting but coudnt decide BW or Colour.
Which button do you dedicate to back button focus? I can see to settle on one to suit me..
Thanks

B&W with no forts for me. I select manual focusing to fix the focusing for long exposures.

If you don't want to use an app or do the mental arithmetic. This is is straightforward way of arriving at the shutter speed, providing your camera let's you go over 30s in manual mode (not all do);
Take a meter reading without the filter at your desired aperture
Attach the filter and simply rotate your shutter speed dial by the same number of clicks of the filter
So with a 10 stop filter simply adjust the shutter speed by counting 10 clicks as you turn the dial
With a 6 stop it would be counting 6 clicks and so on.

Good as usual Paul l can understand how the round filters u were using but what if u are shooting landscape and have to move filters up or down what do u have to do silly question

Great video, 16 stop is half the light on 15 so double the time from 4 to 8 minutes, (1/125) x ND1000 X ND64 = 512 seconds = 8 min 32 seconds,
