Love the Mister. Saturn 🪐 is my favourite retro system. Wish I could get one in the future. Definitely need Dreamcast and N64 cores.

Perfect! a new core for our favourite FPGA. Konami is a amazing company, specially in 80 and 90s

I think reading bubble memory is destructive, meaning the 1's and 0's must be rewritten after reading.

Bubble memory was used in industrial machinery. Think of CNC machines and PLCs. It was never very common, but it was more robust as a rewritable solid state memory than rotating floppy disks.

Flash memory is obviously better in every way. But even flash started out impractical needing 25 volts and a maximum of 100 write cycles.

I'm guessing it actually took so long to get this going is because the bubble system is both incredibly rare and expensive. I can't imagine anyone just sacrificing their board for this.

Is this on Update_all or the insert coin script because I don't seem to be getting it

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Gradius is my favorite game out of these 3. That series just means a lot to me.

Bubble memory is fascinating, but why Konami decided to use it over ROM chips in 1985 we'll probably never know! Feels more like someone's pet project that somehow got enough funding to make it into production

Konami is in my thoughts lately. I want to see their redemption arc and their full return to awesomeness they used to represent. Twin Bee was the first shmup I've played and completed on the NES but never played the arcade versions.

Afaik they used the bubble memory for copy protection purpose.

You must be disappointed there is no new Mahjong game with a new arcade core.

I'm decent at most shooters...not good, by any means, but okish. This one just WRECKED me. It's SO SLOW. And then suddenly very very NOT.

I wonder if they could add a "skip warm up" option?

FYI, your title slide says, "MiSTer Vs Real Saturn Hardware! (VIRTUAlly Identical If You Ask Me!)" but the rest of it is perfect. I'm fine with that so feel free to leave as is if desired.

In the UK, Gradius is pronounced 'Nemesis'
