How to make TXT and CSV files open in Excel automatically

When you download a TXT or CSV file, do you have to copy and paste into Excel? NOOOOO. Don't do it the hard way! Take less than 60 seconds and set your default file associations so they open automagically in Excel. Now you can open, edit and save all in TXT or CSV format right inside Excel. Your life just got so much easier, right? You're welcome!

I would love to do this and teach my team to do it as well. Excel was set as my default file for csv files, but doesn't come up as a option under txt files . I googled a few different questions trying to find a path to add an option, but wasn't able to find anything that worked. I will try again another time, but thanks for the info!

This video is pointless. You ramble for more than half the video and then tell us to Google it.

Have you found that the data saved then only opens in the A1 box instead of spread through the spreadsheet? That has repeatedly happened with mine.
