Got mine 20yrs ago for $180 lol. Jams every 3 to 5 rounds but I still only have one mag and never invested in more. Just a range toy and really just sits in the safe now, can’t remember the last time I shot it. Still glad I have it, super iconic and fun piece of history.

Mine was a pawn shop special, real crusty and rusty. I did a restore and it runs great, one of my favorite range guns. And love the nostalgia haha

A gem of a find . I'm in California and have had mine for 25 years. The firing on just broke so I need a new one. She turns a lot if heads at my local range since they've been banned here fir mire than 20 years. Make sure to clean every 150-200rds and lube but not too wet.

3 piece of advice if I may.
First, fmj 115 grain only and always. Mine loves the red letter white box winchesters.
Second and most important. When you load the magazine in the well. Slam it all the way up, then tug down. You'll feel and created a few millimeters in space. Bolt will ride smoothly over the mag.
Third, since you are using older mag and the magazine stop is welded. No need for the third and its only for the newer AB10 magazine.
These should eliminate the jams. Mine works flawless and the RSO at my local range about half my age always ask if they can shoot it.
Enjoy and take care of your gem. If you ever get those AB10 mags. Hit ne up and we'll do the third.

Cheers!

Falling Down with Michael Douglas is what got me interested in that SMG.

About ten (10) of these made it into Australia before customs realized what they were and banned their further impot by name, thats how it was back in the late 80s / early 90s, a gun importer wouod import a consignment of a certain model of gun and if cistoms didn't like them fhey usually woukd let the first batch in, then put the make and model on the ban list and no more wouod be allowed in.

Mostly Uzi pistols, CZ91s Skorpion's and Steyr SPPs got in in small numbers, things like Tec 9s and 22s, MACS, SP89s, Calicos etc came in as like under 10 examples by private collectors until 1996 when the government issued a blanket ban on the import of anything that remotely looked like an MG.

I was lucky enough to own a Tec 9, AB10, Tec 22, Full size Uzi (open bolt), Uzi Pistol, CZ91s Skorpion, MAC 10 (open bolt), Steyr SPP and an AK22 all registered as semi auto pistols.

Unfortunarely doing the right thing and having them registered was their downfall, as my state changed the law about 2 years ago and banned all of them based on appearance. Sad becaaue I owned them since the late 90s and some like the full size Uzi and MAC 10 were the only registered examples in civilian hands in the country, and they all survived the 2003 handgun buyback (steal back) as i was smart enough to register them with 10rd mags, while guys with their 32rd Glocks were screwed.

No compensation either for my seized pistols, i had to sue the government.

Im a US resident now, living the dream, again :)

My advice for US gun owners, if your state allows it, ALWAYS private purchase, and avoid 4473s or anything else that creates a registry of what guns you own.

Registration ALWAYS proceeda confiscation

I played with it alot on grand theft auto vice city and san andreas, it was also in the syphon filter series, in that game it fires the infamous teflon coated bullets. Its used to eliminate armored enemies.

That's the exact one I've always dreamed of owning since I was a young teenager. Thanks for sharing.

And mine didn't have the rods for the sling, I used a cannon camera sling to the back, and if you have problems with it
Don't load 32-33 load 28-30 because the spring is a lil dinky, lol and yes I'ma 90z baby,
Had the 32 and the 7-10 rounder I forget
500$ at time when I bought mine in 2011 I believe

I first saw a tec-9 in a Joe the Motorists Auto parts store in the early 80's. Like between 1980, 81, 82...

Old gang member back in the early 90's and some of us had them...
They were a dime a dozen back then, Cadillacs and Tech 9's....

The original Swedish made versions I heard are good guns quite reliable. It’s just the 1980’s Miami made clones that suck

Saw one in my local pawn shop about two to three years ago from $499.00 only to be on sale for $399.00 on a one day sale where everything in the shop was $100 off at that time. It sold a few weeks later to some one. It had a 32 round magazine with it that's all.

Just found your video. I have had three of these in my life and have two currently with several OEM mags and a couple 50 round mags. I have never had any issues with them. They work just fine and I enjoy shooting them. They have a bad rap for being junk, but that has not been my experience.

I bought my Tec-9 brand new in 1990. I tried lubing it about 3 years ago an now it will not shoot. It has been sitting in the original case ever since.
