Everything you need to know before you go to the Grand Canyon National Park. The Grand Canyon is the 2nd most visited National Park with nearly 5 million visitors per year. It's a sprawling 1,218-square-mile natural wonder in Arizona, carved by the mighty Colorado River over millions of years. The canyon itself is a mile deep and up to 18 miles wide, offering breathtaking vistas and a glimpse into millions of years of geological history. Most people think of the Grand Canyon as a desert, but it’s actually a forest! It’s set at an elevation of 7,000 feet and it’s home to tons of greenery and wildlife too. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a casual sightseeing enthusiast, the Grand Canyon National Park has something to offer everyone… but there’s so much more to do than just hiking and views that we’ll talk about in Things to do.

The only tips is have are-
There’s a lot of people at peak time so get there early . Don’t hang around others.
It’s hot and you’re at an altitude. You get tired sooner and it’s the desert! Bring lots of water and don’t walk too far. If you’re not keeping up in terms of walking time just turn back. Don’t risk it. Nobody is carrying you back. Well maybe. But you’re going to get the bill.

I need to go back one day to check out some of these trails! I went there a few years ago one October when I drove out to Utah and Arizona, and I only had a few hours there as I was going to Sedona. I think all I did was walk the rim trail along the South Rim. The views were quite amazing when I went!

This is such an in depth video ! I’ve been to the Grand Canyon for a day trip, and I had no idea about all these other things that you can do while you were there! Thanks for taking the time for making this. I’m sure it took a lot of time and effort.🎉

Don't miss the Stargazing in the Grand Canyon! If you drive into the park and can drive away from the Villages by heading east or west there is some amazing star gazing at night. Easier to do in the winter and early spring times for sure but very much worth it. My wife and I did it during the Valentine weekend and it was truly an amazing experience near the Hermits Rest.

My grandmother has always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, and me too (don't worry, we're both fit). I'm really taking some notes here, this is a trip we'll be doing... probably by next year if all goes as planned. I wish there were more travel channels doing what you do; amazing stuff as always!

Great video as always Chris 👍🏻
We’ve only been there once and we did the Helicopter tour out of Boulder City, landing in the bottom of the canyon for a nice champagne breakfast. A bit fancy I know but I wanted to surprise Wifey and spoil her 😘

hi Chris, I was just there last month, love getting memories of my trip come up by watching your video. Also for people who would like to visit during low season, February is a good month to go, just know there is snow on the trail so you have to be prepared and some roads are closed.

New subbie here! We are in Grand Cannon Natl Park as I write this comment, great tips!! Definitely beginners, but the rim trail is accessible and paved almost the entire way. Walk out under Lookout in the village is a safe, easy stairs to get below the rim shots. Tomorrow morning we will attempt 5 min walk down Bright Angel to the first carved arch, I think it’ll be a great experience and even if it is slow going back up, feeling confident we can manage 10 minute walk uphill ☺️

Planning a trip with my wife on in the first days of August. Never been there before. We understand this is not the best time because of the heat, but can’t come later. We want to rent a camper van and stay there for 1-2 nights. Thank you for the video! Very informative, useful and not boring to watch 😅
