For the early to mid game use Hawk Cry Cliff. Run north and hug the wall. Kill the 2 plant enemies and then follow the wall and there is a single blue chocobo. You can one shot it with titans wind up. Takes 45 seconds and you get about 100AP and up to 2 goblin coins but always one so 800-1600 Gil. Super fast and easy.

Appreciate the end-game farming tip; I will definitely take advantage of this location! Aside from the mid-game farming location highlighted in the video, another good AP site is located IVO the Dravozd obelisk: Travel to Dravozd, turn away from the guard 180 degrees and head down the path upon which three hounds [Bloodfang & Wild Nakks x 2] will be waiting accordingly... Defeating them is quick & easy and generates 115 AP with the Wages of Warcraft accessory equipped! Travel back via the Dravozd obelisk, and repeat to your heart's content!

@4:20 If done during the story it's 700AP on the last mob alone, and I was getting around 1, 000AP per run (With Accessory Equipped)

I think playing until the mid game farm then farming it for 1-2 hours in order to get 6 abilities mastered means that you have all the ap you need for the entire game. As you only have 6 abilities equipped at any point.

*do not* equip Timely Strikes. It will call in abilities for you. Last thing you want is it calling in a 2min cool down ability on an enemy with 5hp.

Not sure if is just for me but at the beginning of "cloak and dagger" (first mission after your fight with bahamut) as you start the mission there are a few dogs hidden to the left (literally 20 meters from your spawn, you will find 2 first and then another further in), killing them all gives you around 145 AP (I am doing it during the story so I am getting extra APs), the fight takes 15-20 seconds and all you have to do is click on restart and get new dogs! The obelists name is The Krozjit Echoes

If you don't mind a short jog, in Bokland/Dhalmekia if you head towards Steps of the Forgotten there's 4 packs of Nakks that (with the AP accessory +20%) drop 110-124 AP and it only took me just under 2 minutes running it on foot. There's also two Hellgaroo's that drop 96 each but they take a little longer to kill.

Used this video for the endgame method for my first playthrough to hit level 50. Back again now that I started NG+. Not had major difficulty so far but I just beat Garuda so we'll see. Definitely more spongy enemies. Forgot how much I loved this game!

Let's get that platinum! Beating FF mode is literally the only trophy I have left.

The farm spot i am currently using is during the main story quest The Dead of Night.
In the story after you leave Lostwing and head for Norvent Valley, and The Norvent, you reach a spot near a bridge where you will get a video. After that vid you main quest becomes Enter Caer Norvent. If you go back to the Lostwing Obelisk and head back to the South East of the map you can fight some soldier. Across the first bridge you can fight more.
Once there, there is a Caer Norvent River Bridge Obelisk right nest to the Caer Norvent River Gate location marker.
My current early game low level farm is Warp to that Obelisk, run down the bridge, defeat the enemies and repeat.
If you have Flames of Rebirth, which doesn't take long to get here, you just run a couple steps past the two soldiers at the end of the bridge and cast. it might miss one enemy which can be easily defeated. Then warp to The Hideaway for a cooldown reset and repeat.

One round with no AP or XP boosts is 20 XP 64 AP, plus item drops. Black Bloods sell for 400 gil.

Once you go through the next part of the story and defeat the next major boss and gain a new power, this farm spot will disappear.

Just got back into the game trying to complete it now, great video! Really wish Leviathan or Alexander were in the game as Eikons, maybe DLC 🤞🏼

at the start of waloed in wolfdarr you can pull 3 groups of orcs together and kill them all with 1 lv 5 Zantetsuken gaining 57200 (with buffs) exp and 448 AP per run

Level 5 Zangetsu will one shot that whole pack (or any normal enemy group in the game). It makes farming so much easier.

I feel obliged to feedback my experience.
I used your tips, but found one comment to be more useful - Hawks Ridge for the chocobo early game once you get there.
I attempted to finish every summons as I got them, and it was hard as your mid game spot is in fact at about the 75% game mark, making it really hard to farm early game. In addition, the aetherflood at mid point then stops you farming blue chocobos for hours.
The good news is, I got to your midpoint farming spot, knowing I only needed 35000 AP for shiva and Odin. Therefore, 35 runs of the initial three fights is all that is needed as I was getting about 1000 a run. It didn’t take long (90 mins) and then I didn’t need the final spot. I got shiva a couple hours later and instantly maxed, I was only about 5000 over through normal collection without farming.

I'm doing the bluebirds myself but I do a little extra by attacking them a little bit then attacking the worgen. Gives me 105 ap. Same with bluebird near cliff. Use ignition and get them close enough to the wyvern infants and that another 91 ap.

It seems that an update might have helped with how much AP you need to max everything.
I did all the side quests and hunts my first playthrough. Then in new game+, I did most of the side quest and only a few hunts. I maxed out all skills at level 90. I had two exp bonus items on the whole time but didn't have to use any AP boost items. It finally happened halfway through the quests on chapter 67: origins. I'm glad I didn't have to spend an extra hour or two grinding after finishing NGP.

Those first 3 packs in Free Cities of Kanver in normal mode net you 1100-some AP per run if it's the active mission. It is far better than the Hyena pack. Unfortunately, if you miss it, you can't go back.

Thanks for the tip! I was spawning at the last waypoint and killing the orcs in the middle for 134AP but this is way more and in the same location 👌🏼 want that juicy lvl.5 zantetsuken 🤺🤺

That mid game farm seems like a low estimate. Just the last fight of the 3 gives you 700AP per instance if you're getting the 20% boost from your accessory. I think I was getting about 1100 AP per run--that's if you're not doing a stage replay.

Really useful guide for farming AP early-mid-end games, thanks a lot 👌

The load out I recommend is Odin only. I use arm of darkness close the distance and briefly stun the enemy just enough to activate dancing steel. Then use Heaven’s cloud to finish bringing Zentesuken to full 5, then unleash Zentesuken to obliterate the entire group of enemies. I’m having a lot of fun with this load out.
