Recently, news broke out stating that a few IITians were able to bag Rs. 4 crore salary in their ongoing placement drives. Crazy, right?!
As someone who has seen the inner workings of this system, I can tell you that the reality is far from what is portrayed in popular media and society.

I'll discuss the reality of these offers vs what you actually end up making as in-hand salary.

Most of these companies only reveal the CTC and how it's misleading. CTC refers to the total amount of money that an employer is spending on an employee, including various benefits like health insurance, bonuses, and other perks. In contrast, the in-hand salary is the amount of money that actually ends up in the employee's pocket after various deductions like taxes, PF, and other expenses.

The reality is that the difference between CTC and in-hand salary can be quite significant, and many people end up being surprised by the lower take-home pay than they expected. In some cases, the gap can be as high as 40-50%.

Moreover, the difference between CTC and in-hand salary can be confusing and misleading, especially for young professionals who are just starting their careers and also JEE aspirants who dream of being part of the top IITs of the country. They may be tempted by the high CTC figures but fail to consider the deductions that will be taken from their paychecks.

The biggest question in my mind since years:-
Why these colleges takes exams like Maths, Physics and Chem., and then also it depends upon your rank which course will you get. People at higher posts ne toh keh diya, ki baccha, coding seekho, ye seekho, vo seekho, par iska kya aachar daalein?

I've invested my time in building up my skills in cybersecurity since std. 8th and a bit programming, and now I am in class 11th and now I would be told to go nothing less than IIT (log bolte hai tag matters, but the only thing which matters to capitalists is skills, even if you don't have a degree)

Now, IIT with this process of admission is just a scam for me as this makes to learn things of a level (chemistry mein periodic table, ye, voh...), which is not used at all in maximum professions and can be easily googled if needed.

And, somehow the most overrated universities can be IIT, and most underrated people are people like me, 80-90% wale bacchey .

And, mere par defamation ka case mat karna.... 😅

Don't convert ppp on full amount. Convert only on money spent. Suppose that guy is getting 300k $ per year (close to 2.5 cr). If someone would spend around 35-40k in india, his expense in hong kong would be around 1-1.25lacs (12-15 lacs per year). The savings is close to 2.35 cr - taxes which is a huge amount when compared to someone earning 1 cr in india.

@Ishan.. Really loved you bringing out these things to the students who drain out in rat race and come out confused. You can add about the Finance side of things also like the fees IITs charging like it almost increased more than twice in the last 4 years. Although there are a lot of pros being an IITIan, students should learn more important skills like creative prblem solving, constant learning etc and its not necessary to be scared or disappointed if some one fails after this much of effort in the competitive exams.

😢😢IIT ke logo ko 4cr mila toh news mein aaya and iss saal kitne logo despite being from tier-3 colleges Amazon Google jaise companies mein 1.2cr+ ke offers mile freshers ko woh bhi ye sab news mein nahi aaya 😢

These 150 students are not only from btech but they are from all btech+mtech combined hence it further decreased probability

After going through the comments now I finally realized that I am not alone frustrated with this system. I got only 59.5 percentile on JEE mains first attempt and second attempt ki baat na karo to achha hai. I have wbjee available now and I don't know which college I will get. Basically I messed up everything with my 11-12th science. Some people advised me to take a drop year and try again for some good colleges. But the reality is that now I don't want to study that damn Physics, Chemistry, Math because I have lost interest on these subjects after struggling for more than 2 years and with this huge syllabus and tough competition.

So I decided to stop this and started learning programming from online resources. Now I am learning Flutter development, because now I have realized that colleges don't teach me the right skills to get a job and rather they give me a good placement. So now

Only a few startups out of top 100 startups of india are actually profit making. So don't do buisness/startups for only money, do to create a change in society and only do if you are passionate about that. Otherwise doing job or freelancing is not also bad.

I was really sad cause my Jee exam didn't go well but now I'm happy that I did not get selected into IIT since if I got into IIT then again for 4 years I'll be competing in this rat race. It's nearly impossible getting a 1cr CTC package... 100/1Lakh ?? Sometimes I wonder that the hardwork that a person puts into getting a 4cr package is a lot more than if he would have started something of his own . A student rubs his ass for 6 fuckin years straight to get these jobs....don't you think if he would have started something of his own he would definitely achieve success ?
