Finally got the episode done...time to grind some ranked!


I just realized tha made a list for all the characters who can't break bigger obstacles + don't push the opponent back when entering Sparking mode, but forgot to include it in the actual video...yea.
Anyways here's the list: Videl, Hercule, Kid Goku, Roshi (Base + Max Power), Yajirobe, Chiaotzu, Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, Kid Gohan, Teen Gohan, Babidi, Spopovich, Saibamen, Frieza's Soldier, Great Saiyaman, Pan, and Guldo(kind of the theory).

i forget which vegeta, but if their ultimate lands, he just laughs maniacally at the opponent afterwards. its great. love all these small touches done for the game. the devs had a field day you could tell!

It’s fucking insane how much of a love letter this game is to dragonball fans. Seriously this game blew away all expectations, thank you so much to the devs and everyone who worked on it.

I think these power level mechanics are based on how strong they are in the arc compared to the heavier hitters. So raditz in his respective arc is like the big boss while base teen gohan isnt really much compared to his ssj form. This would also explain why the fusions are on par with gods dp wise and strength wise.

One detail I noticed that I really like is after a character transforms, they stay in their transformed pose with their energy around them until the player moves them. I love this! A simple detail that can add a cinematic feel!

A cool detail they added is whenever your playing as a character with a scouter and your opponent goes into sparking mode your scouter breaks!

it might be a reference to that
if so a very deep cut

3:22 maybe its not connected to power level but destruction points instead, after all super broly and Z broly both have the same amount of destruction points while being light years apart in terms of power level

3:33 OR you could argue that there's no deeper thought behind it and it's just a bunch of base presets that have been used arbitrarily when the characters were created in which some presets can and others can't break the rocks.

I think the SSJ3 Goku finger blast might be a manga reference? In the manga, during Vegeta's "you are number 1" speech we can see snippets of Goku fighting kid buu, and in one of the pannels we sorta see him doing an invisible ki blast to Buu's face with a gesture that looks a little like that.

8:39 The gesture that Buu does is actually still an "F you" gesture in Japanese culture so while he doesn't flip you off, it still is a similar meaning gesture.
