Yamaha recommends changing your gear oil every 4 years. This video covers how to check and replace the rear differential oil on your Yamaha Drive 2 Quietech golf cart. The oil level should be 5.5" down from the top of the case. These use a 75W85 gear oil. Thanks for watching.

I believe that all Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) diffs hold 1/2 quart of 80/90 or strait 90 according to the 2022 manual.

From the Manual:
Secondary reduction system helical gear

Secondary reduction ratio:
Forward 9.79:1 / Reverse 14.36:1
Differential type bevel gear

Lubricant/capacity:
475 cc (475 ml, 0.50 US qt)
SAE 80W-90 or SAE 90 gear oil

I just got a new 2022 drive 2 and it keeps leaking fluid from the rear transaxle vent tube after a mile or two of driving. Any thoughts why it would do this? Dealer said the fluid was not overfilled.

Wow, having to make your own dip-stick? NEVER heard of that before. Yamaha couldn't have done that -- make a dip-stick cap -- instead of just using a plug? Absolutely amazing...and definitely not very "innovating" by Yamaha designers, IMO.
