Vijay Daniels (MD, MHPE, FRCPC) introduces and demonstrates common physical exam instruments: Littmann Cardiology III, tuning forks (512Hz, 128Hz), reflex hammers, and monofilament.

These videos are for educational purposes, and any examinations demonstrated in videos should only be applied when deemed necessary based on the particular OSCE station.

The Edmonton Manual is the premier study aid for the OSCEs, and a perfect way to study for the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) exam, as well as Part I/II of the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC). The Edmonton Manual is a reliable resource for patient encounters in the clinic, on the wards or in the emergency room. With additional chapters on essential clinical skills (EKGs, blood work, radiology) and physical examination, the Edmonton Manual is an important bedside tool for all physicians in training.

I love how the first guy is just standing in a corner half-naked the first few minutes.

He has the pressures mixed up on the stethoscope functions. You use light pressure for the use of the diaphragm and harder pressure for it to act as a bell. The tunable diaphragms are a major upgrade from a normal stethoscope and I would highly recommend it

What I've seen is if doctors or whoever has those kind of shoes like kinda dress shoes, they have that flat part on the heel and they hit it on there

Doesn't the rigidity cause the difference in the impact for the tomahawk?

Hitting your elbow with the tuning fork hurts, dumb doctors hit their elbows with the tuning fork. Smart dictors hit their patient's elbow with the tuning fork.

Smarter doctors mask the pain they cause the patient by hitting their elbow by then asking did you feel that?
