the tea stuff is interesting, because it makes me wonder whether toby originally planned to get rid of the tea's lore-providing functionality in chapters after 2, or if that's just a consequence of us datamining the game to see what the teas do. The teas are part of why we know that Kris doesn't love Ralsei, for instance. I wonder if the teas were just to tell us how the characters feel at present, and if maybe we'll get an equivalent item in a later chapter that lets us know how the characters feel after more of the game's events have transpired

1:14 the reason why is so that we dont keep on relying on this one item from chapter 3 for information throughout the entire game, as he would be forced to use it for lore drops whenever there was a new character, and it would be better to give information in more unique ways and not have the community always looking in the same place for lore

I feel that the explanation of changing tea to rotten tea to avoid writing new dialogue would make a lot of sense for any game developer other than TobyFox, though I could be wrong (I don’t know the guy 😅)

Personally, my belief is that he wants more subtlety in how the relationships between party members evolves. Maybe there’s a point of tension, where we aren’t entirely sure how one party member really feels about another.
