I got rear ended a while back and the insurance company (State Farm) of the guy who rear ended me said they were going pay for the damages to my truck as well as a rental car for the time while being fixed. I’ve always been a clean and safe driver and had never been in an accident before this one. I also had some alignment issues underneath and a messed up tire from this accident but insurance wouldn’t pay for it bc they couldn’t link it to the accident even tho I told them it did. So I had to spend about 2 grand getting that fixed. The VERY NEXT DAY I get a call from the insurance company and the body shop that’s fixing my truck saying they don’t think it can be fixed and that I should just declare it totaled and take a check for 13 grand from them. And my truck was a 2006 Tundra with 117, 000 miles on it. But I just felt so blindsided from the insurance company. So the moral of that story is Never trust the insurance company
