Nice video. People will find anything to complain about it seems.

Do you really love one another, like Jesus commanded? This is the most important quetion! Everything else should come from that: the lifestyle, meetings, family life, teaching, etc.

Most people I've met haven't heard of intentional community before, and so they 'accuse' us of just making it up ourselves!

I am all for intentional community. I am thinking of a monastic commune like the Anglo-Saxon Minster or Celtic Monastery though. Something like a cross between a Benedictine monastery and a Hutterite colony.

Please make a video on the challenges.

How does one join an intentional community such as the Bruderhof?

Sorry you feel "commune" is not a nice word. Is that just because of the furious propaganda reaction of the United States to the labor movement, socialism, and communism? I had a friend in college in the fifties who joined the Brüderhof, and I've been an admirer ever since. I have been shy myself, since I feel the world's problems and learning to love must transcend the human attributes of Christianity.

I found it difficult to understand the woman, she talks too fast. The young man is comfortable in front of the camera, relaxed and speaks slowly and clearly. Are greasy hair and beards a bad thing?

I, too, found the dissing of communes distasteful. Not only is it a negative for intentional community, but a negative for Christianity. As if young people striving for community in the 60s and 70s were somehow less worthy than your young selves. Thought experiment: Jesus would be more at home in A) a hippie commune, or B) your glorified upscale suburban development in the woods?

Your vision of the sixties is insulting.
