Something about testing your layers I just thought of, you could also go to an ice rink if you have one nearby to test stuff year round. I'm in SoCal, but our water is much cooler than it normally gets on land.

This is a very informative series, thank you for putting it together. I’ll be talking with my LDS later this year about getting a dry suit, and the certification to go with their use, and this series of videos helps

Great point of wearing your undergarments in same temperature as your dive. Remember, some materials do have more compression than say polartec 🤘

getting rid of the onesie for standard wool hiking clothing was fantastic

Great summary. As you say, the specialist scuba gear scores over regular dept store products in the combination of lightness, lack of bulk and flexibility. I do get my dry glove inners from regular suppliers because I've found some nicely warm, thinsulate and thin fleece gloves that do just as good a job as Kubi's own but at a third the price. For backmount I do need to have as much arm flexibility as possible to work those twins valve drills but for singles, no not a problem.

Great series. Thank you. Strange question from a newbie, but do you wear anything under your undergarments? Trying to figure out the p valve tubes etc

Im a commercial diver and most of the time I just wear a set of merino wool thermals under a neoprene suit. If I need a bit of extra warmth ill throw on a pair of cotton jogging bottoms and a jumper

Great Video Brian. Do you find that you have to modify your undergarments to accommodate a P valve. If so is a specific modification for this

No flexibility needed for back-mount divers? How are you going to do valve drills sir? Terrible advice.
