I'm looking to make an absolutely enormous pom pom for a cosplay (Professor Laventon from Pokémon, whose hat has a pompom so large that the fan base likes to joke that it's consuming his brain). It looks a good twice/three times bigger than the one in the video. Will I really need three skeins of yarn to make just the pom? How big should my frame for that be?

Also, the step about tying knots with the pre cut yarn was a bit unclear. How much am I trying together each time? Do I go all the way through with each knot?
